About the Authors

Bilquis Ali is a working mother focused on faith and family. She has four amazing children: Jahad (age 27), Stanley (age 23), Saleem (age 10), and Bahiyyah (age 9). She resides in Williamsport with her youngest two, who are the inspiration, coauthors, and namesakes for the Saleem and Bahiyyah books. She created the series because “Writing books with her children and learning is fun!” and she recognized the importance of contributing to and creating an environment where her children – and all children – can feel comfortable in their skin. Each of the books in the Saleem & Bahiyyah series focuses on topics that reinforce the importance of family and faith, as well as acknowledging and celebrating differences because, as Bilquis emphasizes, “It is our differences that make the world a beautiful place.”
